The Esfahan based team got on to a great start when ten minutes before the half-time Mohammad Mansouri opened the score for Zob Ahan, placing his shot in the top right corner leaving Mehdi Rahmati motionless.
Former Esteghlal player Felipe Alvez added to the tally after Rahmati’s blunder which put Zob Ahan two goals ahead.
Mohsen Yousefi revived Esteghlal’s hopes after making no mistake blasting his short ranged shot past Zob Ahan's keeper, Shahab Gordan.
Almost twenty minutes from the whistle, Blue’s skipper Milad Meydavoudi equalized, scoring his sixth goal this season.
A loss could have ruled out any chance of Esteghlal becoming champions, although the point puts ‘The Blues’ in third position, just six points behind current leaders Sepahan.
