Jabari

TEHRANTIMES - Iconic Esteghlal midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari has been sidelined for several weeks with a knee problem, the football club confirmed on Saturday.

Jabbari, who often suffers with knee injuries, has meniscus problem and will be out of action for several weeks.

The 29-year-old midfielder missed Tehran derby on Thursday, where his team lost to arch-rival Persepolis 3-2 in the Iran Professional League.

Jabbari cannot play against Zob Ahan in AFC Champions League playoff, slated for February 11 in Tehran, according to the Esteghlal officials.

According to reports, it will take sometime for Jabbari to get back to the field.

Jabbari is unlikely to play Iran and Qatar match in the 2014 World Cup qualifier, which has been scheduled for February 29.
