PFDC - TEHRAN, Thanks to six second-half goals, Iran smashed Palestine 7-0 in a friendly match in Tehran on Wednesday.

The Iranian fans had to wait until injury time of first half before being able to celebrate the first goal, when Mohammad Ghazi headed a Khalatbari cross into the net.

Team Melli then outclassed the visitors after the break and Karim Ansarifard (assist by Hossein Mahini), Javad Nekounam (penalty, foul on Javad Kazemian) and Kazemian (assist by Ehsan Hajsafi) increased the lead to 4-0.

A Pejman Montazeri header to a Mojtaba Jabbari corner and a great goal from outside the area by Pejman Nouri (assist by Jabbari) completed the half-dozen.

In the dying minutes of the game Javad Kazemian won another penalty kick. While the Palestinian goalkeeper received his marching orders for his second booking, Kazemian stepped up himself to score the seventh goal for Carlos Queiroz' men.

Unfortunately, due to Mohsen Mosalman coming on as seventh substitute during second half, the game lost it's FIFA A match status and will not count for FIFA rankings.

Iran will host Bahrain in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.

Iran: Haghighi (Gordan) - Mahini, Zare, Montazeri, Hajsafi - Teymourian (P. Nouri), Nekounam (Mosalman), Karimi (Jabbari) - Meydavoudi (Rezaei), Ghazi (Ansarifard), Khalatbari (Kazemian)
