On Tuesday, Mohammad Ruyanian was appointed as Persepolis general manager, Now there are reports floating in the media that the Tehran-based club is planning to sign Denizli, who has already worked in the Iranian team.
The former Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas coach -- a man to lead the giants to win Turkish Super League title -- said on Friday he has no intentions of coaching now.
“At the moment, I cannot return to Persepolis since I am committed to my contracts in Turkey. I love all Iranian people and have so many good friends there but I have to stay in my country,” Denizli said.
Denizli parted company with Besiktas in the summer of 2010.
"In order to be healthy again, I must take some time away from difficult tasks, stress, and agitation," he said at the time.
Persepolis lost to its archrival Esteghlal 2-0 last week in Tehran derby that left the Tehran based team lingering at the 15th position at the Iran football league table.
