After a goalless first-half at the Foolad Shahr Stadium the Iraqi striker, who played 70 minutes of the first-leg against the Qataris before making way for former Pakhtakor forward Milorad Janjus, opened the scoring in the 56th minute before doubling his side's lead in the 71st minute. Midfielder Ahmad Jamshidian sealed the win one minute into stoppage-time.
Sepahan are in league action again on Thursday when they face Mes Kerman in their last domestic fixture before heading to Doha and the second-leg of their continental quarter-final with Al Sadd on September 28.
