MNA - Luka Bonacic was appointed as new coach of Sepahan football team.
The 56-year-old Croat replaced Amir Ghalenoei in the Isfahan-based team. He joined Sepahan on a one-year contract on Thursday.
Bonacic had been highly successful with Sepahan after he won Iran’s Hazfi Cup in 2006 and 2007. He also managed Sepahan to the AFC Champions League final in 2007 but lost to Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 3-1 on aggregate.
Former Persepolis coach Ali Daei was due to be named Sepahan coach but the officials of the three-time Iran Professional League champion decided to appoint Bonacic as their new coach.
