MNA - Persepolis’ technical committee selected Ali Daei on Monday as coach of Iran’s most popular football team.

Daei had publicly spoken out against Persepolis General Manager after the Reds won Iran’s Hazfi Cup in Bandar Anzali 10 days ago. However, he said on Monday that he was ready to sign a blank contract with the team.

Daei, vacationing in Spain, is bound to announce his plans through his agent within the 12 hours.

He had been criticized over the bad results in the Iran Professional League. The Tehran-based team suffered five defeats in a row for the first time in club’s history. Daei also made history by suffering 12 losses during a season.

Nevertheless, former Iran and Persepolis captain inspired the team to claim  Hazfi Cup title for the second successive year.

Former Shahin of Bushehr coach Hamid Estili is an alternative for Daei to take charge of Persepolis.
