Ranjbar, “Ivancovic may go”

PLDC - Mohammad Ranjbar, Head of the Iranian National Teams, returned to Iran with the rest of the National team on Tuesday, 15/10/2002, and while at the airport made the following comments, “The representatives of
various foreign clubs held discussions with Mr. Ivancovic in Busan and he was given many different proposals for cooperation.”

“This has now made the possibility of his leaving the National Team much stronger. We try to persuade him to stay with us and tell him about our optimistic future in football. This man has taught the football circles that patience is a virtue and he himself waited for a long time for his team to get results and reach its aims.”

“The National Youth Team not only became the champions of the Asian Games, but also displayed superior tactics as compared to the rest of the teams. This in itself proved that our victory was not by chance and was
the product of progressive and scientific work. The rest of Asia understood this very well and will surely pay more attention to Iran in the future.”
