MNA - Sepahan closed the gap on Iran Professional League’s leader Zob Ahan by defeating Naft of Tehran on Friday.

Sepahan beat Naft 2-0 at the Fooladshahr Stadium in Isfahan. Serbian Milorad Janus brought the Isfahan-based team the lead in the 62nd minute and Ehsan Hajisafi scored the team’s second goal with nine minutes remaining.

Sepahan is second in IPL standings table with 49 points and one game in hand behind Zob Ahan who has 50 points.
 
Elsewhere, Persepolis was held to a goalless draw against struggling Shahrdari of Tabriz in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
 
Persepolis stayed fourth with 44 points.
