AFC - AFC has requested proposals from IR Iran Football Federation (IRIFF) on the format and hosting of the national level of the Vision IR Iran Championship from which the Iran representatives will be selected for the inaugural AFC Vision Asia Championship expected to be held in October or November 2011.

In a letter to IRIFF, AFC has said that the champions in each Provincial League will represent their provinces in the Vision IR Iran Championship and the champions of the national level competition will then represent Iran in the AFC Vision Asia Championship.

AFC has said that the format of the national level of the competition can either be the home-and-away or centralised format.

IRIFF has three Provincial Leagues - Fars, Hamedan and Esfahan - who meet the AFC criteria for the championship.

The AFC Executive Committee in its November 2010 meeting ratified the AFC Technical Committee and Vision Asia Committee’s decision to organise an AFC Vision Asia Championship with total prize money of US$25,000 for the champion club.

The AFC Vision Asia Championship is open to Vision Asia countries who have a minimum of three project cities, who must have already launched their home and away Elite City Leagues.
