Abuja - For accepting its culpability in the botched international friendly match between Nigeria and Iran, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Iran Football Federation (IFF) have agreed on out of court settlement with the former to pay $ 250,000.

The international friendly match was slated for November 17th between the two countries, but a diplomatic row led to the cancellation of the match by the Nigeria football authorities, few days to the encounter, a decision which infuriated the organizers who vowed to take the matter to court or else both parties settle their differences amicably.

NFF Chief Media Officer, Ademola Olajire said in Abuja on Tuesday that after a careful deliberation by both parties, “we have reached a mutual consensus of paying them $250,000. We don’t have any other option in the case.”
