Zob Ahan gained a boost in the 23 week of IPL competitions by overpowering the team 6-0 at the Fooladshahr Stadium. Zob Ahan had been beaten by Saipa and arch-rival Sepahan in the past two weeks. The Isfahan-based team stays on top of the table with 45 points.
“I am satisfied with the way our players performed against Naft. We are keeping our hopes high,” Zob Ahan coach Mansour Ebrahimzadeh said.
In Tehran, Esteghlal beat Naft of Tehran 3-1 at the Azadi Stadium. Esteghlal is in second place with 43 points.
Elsewhere, Sepahan beat Pas 1-0 in an away game in Hamedan, and is in third place with one point behind.
