GOAL - Iran captain Javad Nekounam says there will be "no difference" if his side face South Korea or Australia in the quarter finals of the Asian Cup.

After a crucial victory over rivals Iraq in their opening match in Group D, Iran look set to qualify for the next round, where it is highly likely they will face the Koreans or the Socceroos first up.

The Osasuna midfielder doesn't have a preference for either of the heavyweights, with his focus on winning the tournament as a whole.

"There's no difference for us which team we play next, as our target is to win the Asian Cup," Nekounam said.

Meanwhile, the 30 year-old tipped Iraq to bounce back after their defeat, with UAE and North Korea their next opponents.

"The match was very good," he continued. "Iraq are the defending champions and I'm sure they will play good in the next matches."
