MNA - Persepolis propelled back into contention in Iran Professional League (IPL) by beating Zob Ahan here on Monday.

In the match held at the Azadi Stadium, the Tehran-based team defeated the IPL leader 2-0. Hadi Norouzi gave Persepolis the lead in the 18th minute of the match.

In the second half, Norouzi was brought down in the 63rd minute into the penalty area by Ali Ahmadi and referee Saeid Mozaffarizade sent off the Zob Ahan defender without hesitation.
