Brazil has been lined up to play Iran in Abu Dhabi, the UAE on October 7.
Brazil will also play a friendly against an unknown team on October 12, probably in Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
An Iranian football official had refuted on Sunday media reports regarding playing the five-time World Cup champion.
“I apologize to all the media because we could not confirm the match until it was finalized,” said Abbas Torabian director of the International Relations Committee of Iran football federation.
Iran has so far had only one friendly game against a world champion and that was in 2004 in Tehran against Germany.
The friendly against Brazil is the first ever encounter between the two teams.
