AFC - Iran continued their dominant form in the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers thrashing hosts Bangladesh 6-0 while India kept their hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over Jordan on Wednesday.

Tanin Naraghi fired a hat-trick for Iran, who defeated India 4-2 in the opener. Sahra Ghanbair scored a brace while Farhadikah Parvin netted a goal for their side.

Bangladesh also had their chances but Mirana’s goal was disallowed for off-side in the sixth minute and Iran goalkeeper Yektaei made a goalline clearance from a Sabina Khatun drive a few minutes later.

Rina Roy and Jabamani Soren scored a goal apiece for India. Rina’s left-footer found the net in the 19th minute following a defensive lapse from Haya Marwan. Six minutes later, India doubled the lead when Jabamani flicked home a cross from Rojina Khatun from the right.

Jabamani would have got her second of the game in the 71st minute but her scorcher hit the crossbar.

India will meet Bangladesh while Iran will face Jordan in the final day of action on Friday.
