MNA - Iranian girls’ soccer team will play Turkey today in the opening game of the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Singapore.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter is scheduled to watch the match which will take place at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Iran has been drawn along with Turkey and Papua New Guinea in Group A. Group B consists of Trinidad and Tobago, Chile and Equatorial Guinea.
The 2010 Youth Olympic Games will take place in the city-state of Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010, in the XXIX Olympiad.
The Games will see 3,600 athletes between 14 and 18 years of age from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competing in 184 events in 26 sports.
Iran will take part in YOG with 52 athletes in 13 sport events.
