PFDC - ST. LEONHARD - Iran managed to defeat Hungarian first league team Vasas SC 1-0 in a test match in Austria on Saturday afternoon.
Afshin Ghotbi lined up a quite different team compared to the 1-1 tie against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday, giving some reserve players a chance to show themselves.
However, again it was Ali Karimi, this time coming on as second half substitute though, scoring Iran's goal from the penalty spot. The playmaker had been brought down inside the area himself in minute 53.
Iran will continue their training camp and conclude the friendly game series against a high-profile opponent, S.S. Lazio, on Wednesday.
