According to Spanish media the Greek giant is ready to pay 1.3 million euros for the Iranian who turns 30 in October.
“Javad has told me he would like to join a big European club. I think Olympiacos is a great club,” his agent said.
“He has already talked to Olympiacos coach. I think he will join the Greek team soon,” Reza Fazeli added.
Olympiacos is considered one of the big three football clubs in Greece and it is one of four teams that have never been relegated from the first division. The team has won the Greek League 37 times.
Javad Nekounam’s contract expires at the end of June 2011. Nekounam joined Osasuna in 2006. He played 91 times for the Pamplona-based team and scored 13 goals.
