Legendary Brazilian footballer hired by IRIB Ch.5
MNA - Former iconic Brazilian winger Jairzinho will travel to Iran to take part in a TV show as a sports commentator.
Jairzinho, 65, will be on IRIB Channel 5 on Saturday in a 2010 FIFA World Cup program. The details of his contract with the Iranian TV channel have not been released.
Jairzinho is one of only three players, alongside Alcides Ghiggia and Just Fontaine, in the history of the World Cup to have scored in every game of the tournament. He has played 81 times for Brazil and scored 33 goals.
Jairzinho was a member of the legendary Brazilian national team that won the 1970 FIFA World Cup.
He coached Gabon for two years and was sacked by the country’s football officials after a crushing defeat against Angola in a World Cup 2006 qualifier.
