The Iranian group checked out the Santiago Bernabeu Museum, the dressing rooms and other parts of the stadium.
“Santiago Bernabeu was built in 1902 and nearly 2,000 people visit the stadium daily,” Emilio Butragueno, former Spain striker and current director of Institutional Relations for Real Madrid, told the Iranian party.
Butragueno accepted an invitation to Iran by IFCA, and said he would come to Iran along with several Spanish football officials.
The 26-member group is scheduled to watch Real Madrid – Osasuna match on Sunday as part of their five-day trip. Iranian players Javad Nekounam and Masoud Shojaei are playing for Pamplona-based Osasuna.
This is IFCA’s second visit to a European football club. They visited A. S. Roma last year.
