In the match held at the Takhti Stadium in Anzali, Persepolis was held to a 1-1 draw by Malavan.
Former Persepolis striker Mehrdad Oladi gave the lead to Malavan just five minutes into the match. Malavan’s Brazilian striker Felipe Alves could have added the second goal in the 61st minute but missed the penalty kick. Six minutes later Persepolis captain Karim Bagheri equalized the match with a header.
Persepolis defender Sheis Rezaei was sent off by referee Hedayat Mombeini in the added time after receiving his second yellow card.
Persepolis remained in the third place of the IPL standings table with 50 points, behind Sepahan and Zob Ahan with 56 and 52 points respectively both with one game in hands.
