Previous reports indicated that Steel Azin officials were interested in the midfielder who is not happy in Eintracht Frankfurt.
“Mahdavikia is one of Iran’s greatest players and it’s an honor for any team to have him, but we are not interested at the moment,” said Steel Azin’s spokesman Mohammad-Taqi Haq-Shenas.
The 32-year old winger, whose contract ends next summer, managed only 32 games in the past 18 months. Mahdavikia has not played a single minute for Eintracht this season.
