MNA - Pacesetter Sepahan sealed a convincing 5-0 victory over Esteghlal of Ahvaz on Tuesday.
Amir Ghalenoei’s team defeated Esteghlal of Ahvaz and moved six points clear at the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) table.
Emad Reza and Ebrahim Tore both struck twice and an extra time’s goal by Ahmad Jamshidian claimed a fantastic victory over the host Esteghlal of Ahvaz at the Takhti Stadium.
Sepahan sits on top of the IPL standings with 43 points and one game in hand.
Elsewhere, Esteghlal (of Tehran) was held to a 2-2 draw by Malavan of Bandar of Anzali in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. Malavan came back from 2-0 behind to equalize the match.
Arash Borhani and Amir Hossein Sadeghi both scored for Esteghlal, but the Tehran favorite team conceded two goals in one minute. Malavan’s first goal came from Felipe Alves from the penalty spot, and Mohammad Heidari equalized the match.
Esteghlal is fourth in the IPL standings with 32 points.
