MNA - Persepolis football team came back into contention by defeating Pas of Hamedan here on Friday.
In the match played at the Azadi Stadium, Persepolis edged Pas of Hemedan 1-0 and moved up to the third place of the Iran Professional League (IPL), behind duo Isfahani teams Sepahan and Zob Ahan.

Pas keeper Sosha Makani made a big blunder in the 35th minute when he hit the ball in Meysam Bao’s body and the Persepolis midfielder found himself in front of the empty net and opened the goal.

“We should have scored more but our strikers didn’t make use of the chances they got. Persepolis was up and down a lot of the match but in total we were the better team,” Zlatko Kranicar said in a post match news conference.

“We are going to find our best arrangement in the IPL matches. Persepolis makes effort to be better in each game,” the Croat added.

Persepolis sits third with 32 points, behind Sepahan bagging 40 points with one game in hand and Zob Ahan with 37 points.
