Ghotbi is not going to be fired , IFF says

MNA - Afshin Ghotbi is not in danger of losing his job despite poor results of Iran football team, said an Iran Football Federation (IFF) official.

Iran’s coach Ghotbi has been criticized for losing against Jordan on Sunday in the 2011 Asian Cup qualifiers in Amman.

“Ghotbi will continue his work. Of course he has to explain to IFF about Iran’s performance against Jordan,” Mehdi Taj IFF Vice-President said.

“We will also review the matches against Iceland and Macedonia.”
