GOAL - Iran may have defeated Iceland 1-0 in Tuesday’s friendly in Tehran but coach Afshin Ghotbi was not completely satisfied.

Team Melli are preparing for their 2011 Asian Cup qualifier against Jordan on Saturday and defeated the Europeans courtesy of a goal from 19 year-old Karim Ansarifard.

Ghotbi was happy with the teenage substitute’s contribution but still wants his men to perform better against Jordan.

“I expected more than this,” Ghotbi said according to the-afc.com.

“We did perform better in the second half but Iceland are not a weak team.

“They beat South Africa and only lost 1-0 to Holland recently. It is true that they didn’t have their best players but neither did we.”

Iran are currently on top of their Asian Cup group with four points from the opening two matches.
