Speaking at the Science & Football Congress in Tehran, he said, “The 2019 AFC Asian Cup can be compared to other world tournaments. I suggest Iran be a candidate for the tournament.”
“Nowadays, football players participate in two to five hour workouts a day. Some of them are worth more than $100 million. Many insurance companies are interested in signing contracts with their clubs and federations. So we have to care about them,” the Asian Football Confederation president added.
Bin Hammam praised former Iran Football Federation President Mohsen Safaei-Farahani. He said, “Safaei-Farahani helped us make better decisions at AFC. I hope to see him soon in our sessions at the confederation.”
