MNA - Iran will take part in the qualifying matches for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup which is being hosted by the United Arab Emirates in Dubai.
Teams from Australia, Bahrain, Iran, Oman, Japan, China, Uzbekistan and one last team yet to be confirmed, will play in Dubai from November 7-11 in an attempt to book one of two slots available for Asia.

The two teams playing in the Asian qualifier will be drawn in two groups of four each where they will play in a round-robin system. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals and the finalists will be the Asian representatives at the 2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be played at the same venue in Umm Suqeim.
 
This is only the second time that FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup has taken place outside Brazil, the country that has won the most titles in this sport.

The 2009 World Cup will take place from 16 November until 22 November 2009 and 16 teams from 6 confederations will contest for the coveted title.
