Steel Azin battled to a 2-2 home draw against Traktorsazi of Tabriz in the 12th week of the Iran Professional League (IPL).
“We were under a lot of pressure by Traktorsazi and tried hard to manage the game. Their fans were shouting at me, but I didn’t care and expressed my joy after converting a penalty kick into a goal,” Ali Karimi said.
“Traktorsazi has many good fans that had come to Tehran to support their team against Steel Azin. However, it looked like some fans were signed up to verbally abuse me,” IPL’s best scorer added.
“The disciplinary committee of Iran Football Federation must punish fans who chant against the players,” Karimi concluded.
