PTV - Secretary of Iran's Football Federation has announced that the Iranian national squad will play a friendly match against Iceland.

“Iran is scheduled to play a friendly against Iceland in Tehran on November 10,” Mehdi Mohammad-Nabi said on Tuesday.

“The friendly game will be held four days before the match against Jordan [in Asian Cup qualifiers] on November 14,” he added.

“Four countries Namibia, Faroe Islands, Uganda and Iceland had voiced readiness to hold a friendly in Tehran.”

In its recent matches, Iceland tied Norway and Slovakia but lost to the Netherlands and Macedonia 2-1 and 2-0 respectively.

The Iranian outfit, coached by Afshin Qotbi, has failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
