MNA - Iran Football Federation (IFF) Vice President Mehdi Taj said on Sunday that the federation never likes the Tehran derby to end in a draw.
Tehran-based football teams Persepolis and Esteghlal will play in the 9th week of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday at the Azadi Stadium.

“We will all make efforts to hold the derby without any problem. IFF will prevent tickets finding their way into the black market by selling them on Friday morning,” Taj added.

“This match has three points like the other matches. It should not be that sensitive,” he added.

“Persepolis and Esteghlal would rather not lose in the derby and this is why the match frequently ends in a draw,” Taj concluded.

Esteghlal is 2nd in IPL standing table with 18 points while Persepolis remains 8th with 11 points.
