MNA - Paykan football team brought to an end Persepolis’ unbeaten run in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
In the match held at the Azadi Stadium in front of about 50,000 spectators, Persepolis lost to Paykan 2-1 in the 8th week of the IPL.

Persepolis’ Hossein Badamaki brought down a Paykan forward in the 18th minute in the penalty area and Mohammad Tahmasbi converted the strike into a goal.

Ali Ghorbani scored a long-range shot in the 62nd minute and doubled the score board.

Persepolis put Paykan under pressure but failed to score. Finally, the Reds pulled a goal back in the 75th minute. Meisam Bao opened Paykan’s goal with a shot from outside of the penalty area but it was not enough for Persepolis.

It was Persepolis’ first defeat in the IPL.
