FIFA - Moghavemat took over leadership of the fledgling Iran Pro League thanks to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Malavan.

The game was effectively over inside the first 26 minutes, as Shahram Godarzi gave the hosts an early lead before Mohammad Pourmand struck twice. Saeed Chahjoei then completed the scoring in the 73rd minute to seal Moghavemat's third win of the season.

Moghavemat top the table on goal difference from Zob-Ahan after the latter were held 1-1 at home by Perspolis. Veteran defender Karim Bagheri put Perspolis in front after 53 minutes, but Seyed Mohammad Hosseini levelled five minutes later.

Esteghlal climbed to third and level on points with Moghavemat and Zob-Ahan, after Arash Borhani's late winner secured a 2-1 triumph over Saipa.

Ebrahim Shakori had given Esteghlal a 77th-minute lead, but Ebrahim Sadeghi hit back for the visitors two minutes later before Borhani's last-gasp intervention stole the points.

Elsewhere, Iman Razaghirad's fourth-minute goal proved enough for Peykan to see off Teraktor Sazi, second-half goals from Pirouz Ghorbani, Faraz Fatemi, Mehdi Rajabzadeh helped Mes win 3-1 at Saba Battery, Rah Ahan and Steel Azin drew 1-1, and Foolad were held 0-0 by Sepahan.
