AFC - AMMAN: Iran regained the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U-15 Football Championship title beating Syria 3-2 in the final on Tuesday.

Iran had won the title of this biennial event in 2005 while Syria clinched the crown in the previous edition in Aleppo.

In the semi-finals, Iran overcame Iraq 4-3 on penalties after the regulation time ended in a 3-3 stalemate while Syria defeated Jordan 2-0.

Mahdi Shiltagh scored a brace while Hussain Hussain added third goal for Iran in the semi-final while Amir Abbas scored two for Iraq after Ali Fathian gave them the lead.

Badruddin Shaker and Ayhab Al Housni were on target for Syria against Jordan.

Iraq downed Jordan 3-1 to clinch the third place.
