MNA - Iranian football referees protested over low wages paid to them in the country’s premier league.

“Iranian referees have been the (football) federation’s mobile billboards during the past years. We think we are being exploited by Iran’s Football Federation (IFF). Iran’s football is among the top three Asian countries, but our salaries are too low,” said Iranian international referee Masoud Moradi.

“We are better referees compared to the (United Arab) Emirati referees, but their wages are much higher. We want the football officials to increase our salary to $1,000 for each match,” he added on the sidelines of IFF general assembly on Tuesday.
