A number of coaches have been named by Persepolis officials as candidates for taking charge of the team but nobody has been yet appointed.
“Argentina’s Ardiles is our choice. We are going to negotiate with him,” Abbas Ansarifard said.
The Argentinean has coached West Bromwich Albion, Tottenham Hotspur and Yokohama Marinos.
Persepolis still thinks about Branko Ivankovic despite the Croat has said he has no intention to head the team, Persepolis General Manager added.
The Tehran-based team had already held negotiations with Spaniard Benito Floro Sanz, German Klaus Toppmoller , Croat Luka Peruzovic and Dutch Wim Rijsbergen.
Persepolis is scheduled to play Mes on August 6 in Kerman’s Shahid Bahonar Stadium in Iran Professional League opener.
