Portugoal - Only days after sacking Manuel Cajuda, Vitoria Guimaraes wasted no time in finding his successor as the club announced that Nelo Vingada will take over from Cajuda with an official presentation scheduled on Friday.

The experienced Vingada was expected to take up the coaching job at Egyptian side Al-Ahly, from compatriot Manuel Jose, but turned it down five days after his appointment.

Knowing the Portuguese tactician's antsy demeanour, the club only signed the former Maritimo coach to a one-year deal.

In other team news, Guimaraes announced that full-back Alex will return to the club after spending the last four years at Wolfsburg.

Having released Luis Filipe back to Benfica, the club needed cover in the right-back position, and felt that Alex fills the void. The former Portugal international has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
