The US Football Federation sent the invitation for October or November at Tehran's Azadi Stadium. Iran has taken the offer into considerations, however, has not responded yet.
“With Iran in a battle for World Cup, the offer needs more studies of our circumstances specially after the matches are finalized,” head of Iran's Football Federation Ali Kafashian told Fars News Agency.
"This issue is being studied at the moment and the federation will respond after examining all the details," Kafashian added.
The US and Iran national teams played as a part of the World Cup in 1998in France. Iran defeated the United States 2-1 in a thrilling encounter at the game.
