Hamburg's Mahdavikia ready for comeback in elimination cup match

Berlin, Aug 29, IRNA -- Iranian football international and Hamburger SV forward Mehdi Mahdavikia will return in the starting line-up for this Saturday's first round elimination cup encounter with amateur club FC Schoenberg, the bi-weekly kicker sports magazine reported Thursday.
Mahdavikia played a series of warm-up matches for Hamburger SV's amateur squad to get into playing shape following his long recovery from a complicated disc surgery performed in February.
The ex-Pirouzi striker whose contract runs until 2004, played his last match on February 16 during Hamburg's 2-1 loss at Borussia Moenchengladbach.
