MNA - Persepolis defender Rahman Rezaei confirmed Iranian football federation’s decision regarding Ali Daei’s dismissal.

Daei was sacked last week following a home defeat against Saudi Arabia in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

“Daei gained just six points out of five matches. Iran football team lost to Saudi Arabia at the Azadi Stadium and this defeat cost us a lot. In my opinion, Iran’s football officials made the best decision by firing him,” Rezaei said.

“Daei was not the man of the grand days. Hopefully, they will choose a brave coach for the team to boost our chance to qualify for the World Cup,” the former Iran defender concluded.
