MNA - Moghavemat Sepasi of Shiraz stormed back from a one goal deficit to beat Persepolis 2-1 here at the Azadi Stadium on Tuesday.

Moghavemat who beat Esteghlal, another Iranian giant football team 4-1 two weeks ago, frustrated Persepolis in front of their fans in the 30th week of the Iran Professional League (IPL).

Pejman Noori gave the hosts a lead in the 40th minute, taking advantage of the Moghavemat defender’s mistake who failed to clear the ball. Persepolis midfielder found himself unmarked outside of the six-yard area and scored from the close-range.

Siamak Kuhnavard equalized the match in the 53rd minute. His shot past Persepolis keeper Mehdi Vaezi.

Moghavemat’s Mostafa Sabri got himself on the score board five minutes later with an acrobatic volley.

Persepolis was the better team afterward but could not equalize the match.
