PTV - The Iranian Football Federation's decision (IFF) to ban a popular sports TV show has sparked much criticism in the country's media.

On Monday, the IFF forbade all football players and managers from appearing on TV programs without first receiving permission from the federation.

The ban was imposed after the popular sports show, 90, criticized the IFF and the Physical Education Organization (PEO) for their inefficiency in managing Iran's football affairs.

The TV show's reporter and cameraman were not allowed to attend a press conference following Esteqlal's Saturday match with Barq in Shiraz. The IFF has denied the accusation.

Iranian sports experts and pundits severely criticized the IFF decision, saying it showed the federation's inflexibility regarding constructive criticism.

The head of Iran's Channel Three, which broadcasts 90, denied the IFF ban on the TV show and said that IRIB and the federation have always had 'cordial relations'.

Ali-Asghar Pourmohammadi also rejected reports that the show's host Adel Ferdowsipour would be replaced.
