PTV - The first FIFA ranking released in 2009 indicates that Iran has dropped three spots to 46th, despite remaining fourth among Asian teams.

Australia, Japan and South Korea stood in the 29th, 34th and 42nd positions to be ranked the first three Asian teams. Iran and Saudi Arabia came fourth and fifth respectively.

The first 14 spots in the world rankings remained unchanged as Egypt moved up one spot to replace Ukraine in the 15th position.

Euro 2008 champion Spain remained at the top of the world football rankings for the seventh straight month, followed by Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Brazil.
