PTV - The Iranian national soccer squad is scheduled to face China to fight for the third place in the International Cup of Oman held in Muscat.

The two teams will meet at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Friday before Ecuador and hosts Oman clash in the final of the friendly event.

Iran, coached by Ali Daei, lost its first game of the tournament 1-0 to Ecuador and china was ousted 3-1 by Oman in the inaugurating match of the tournament on Wednesday.

The winner of the tournament will be awarded $100,000.

The Iranian outfit will then fly to Spain on Sunday to hold a training camp and play a friendly against the selected Basque team.

Iran, placed in the 43rd position in the FIFA ranking, is preparing itself for a better performance in the 2010 World Cup.

Daei's men will play against South Korea on February 11.

Powerhouse Iran is in Group B of the final Asian qualifying round, competing against Saudi Arabia, North Korea, the UAE and South Korea.
