Mahdavikia to stay at Frankfurt, for now
PTV - Iranian defender Mehdi Mahdavikia has declared that he has no intention to leave German club Eintracht Frankfurt at the present time.
"I have not made any decision to leave the team; my contract with the club ends in two years," Mahdavikia said in an interview with IRINN on Wednesday.
The former HSV crowd favorite has recently been benched and has been getting little play time in the Bundesliga. Rumors had been swirling around that he may be thinking about leaving the team.
"I will make up my mind in the mid season," the 2002 Asian Player of the Year added.
The 30-year-old Mahdavikia joined Frankfurt in the summer after eight years with Hamburg.
Eintracht Frankfurt sits in the twelfth place in the Bundesliga table with 11 points and will face VfL Bochum on Saturday.
