PFDC - EUROPE, Both Javad Nekounam and Masoud Shojaei played the full 90
minutes as Osasuna suffered a bitter 2-4 defeat in Malaga.
After a goalless first half the homeside scored two goals early in second half.
Osasuna already looked like certain losers but 80 minutes into the game a cross
from Delporte found Nekounam in center and the defensive midfielder perfectly
headed the ball into the net to mark his second goal of the season.
Just two minutes later a Shojaei-corner from the right side was headed into goal
by Flano to make it 2-2.
But Malaga were all but shocked and restored the lead six minutes from time when
Luque curled the ball into the net from outside the area. The hosts sealed
victory when they finished off a counter attack perfectly in injury time.
While Nekounam was still one of the better players of his unimpressive team,
Shojaei despite his third assist of the season, like most of his teammates,
didn't have a good performance, especially because of him committing a mistake
leading to Malaga's third and decisive goal.
Osasuna remain second last in the table with only one win out of 13 matches.
In Germany Vahid Hashmian still didn't recover from his illness and was
sidelined for Vfl Bochum's 1-1 draw with Hamburg SV on Sunday.
A fit Mehdi Mahdavikia suffered the same destiny as a helpless Eintracht
Frankfurt was smashed 0-5 by Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Amir Shapourzadeh's FSV Frankfurt will host FSV Mainz 05 in second Bundesliga on
Monday.
Fulham's Andranik Teymourian also remains out of action injured (knee) while
Ferydoon Zandi is still lacking form after his injury and therefore was not in
Alki Larnaca's squad against Doxa Katopia (1-1).
