MNA - Injured midfielder
Fereydoon Zandi said on Tuesday that Ali Daei will manage Iran to qualify
for the 2010 World Cup.
“Without a doubt, Iran will advance to the World Cup. We have to think about
qualifying for the tournament’s next stage today,” said Zandi.
“I regret being absent against the UAE in the World Cup qualifiers.
Hopefully, Osasuna midfielder Masoud Shojaei will have a good performance
instead of me in the vital game,” added someone whose goal was enough to
give Iran a victory against the UAE in the first stage.
“The level of the Cyprus league is higher than the Emirates but I don’t know
why the Iranian players would rather play there. For example, Anorthosis
Famagusta held Inter Milan to a draw in the Champions League two weeks ago,”
stated the Alki Larnaca player.
Fereydoon Zandi ruptured his spleen in a match against Apolon, but says he
is recovering quickly.
