PTV - Former Livorno defender
Rahman Rezaei has signed a six-month contract with Persepolis hoping to save
the club from mounting crises.
"I have signed a six-month contract with Persepolis but I am still waiting
for my International Transfer Certificate (ITC)," Rezaei said on Wednesday.
"I am really happy to play for such a popular team and I hope I can use all
my experience to help the club both in the Iranian Premier League (IPL) and
Asian competitions," he added.
The 33-year-old Iranian national played seven seasons in Italian clubs
including Perugia, Messina and Livorno.
The Reds dismissed Afshin Qotbi's Brazilian assistant Marco Antonio Alvarez
and player Paulo Roberto do Carmo on Friday.
Defending champion Persepolis has performed poorly this season and currently
sits in the fourth place in the IPL table with 22 points.
Many blame the club's poor performance on disorganized defending, which is
expected to improve with the new signing.
