PTV - Iran's Football
Federation (IFF) says it plans to continue signing shirt sponsor deals for
the national team's friendly matches.
Iranian company Saipa Diesel was allowed to plaster its logo over national
team's shirts for the Monday match against Qatar. The IFF move has sparked
controversy in the Iranian media.
“We are prepared to sign shirt sponsors deals for the national team's future
friendly matches,” said Mohammad Derakhshan, the head of the IFF marketing
committee.
However, the IFF Deputy President Mehdi Taj said the issue of national shirt
sponsorship 'needed more consideration'.
Iran's national football team shirts are not currently allowed to carry
advertising.
